Correctly Addressed ("we," "us," or "our") publishes free guides on how to address mail correctly at https://correctlyaddressed.com. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are not affiliated with the United States Postal Service.

Information we collect

We collect very little, and none of it is sensitive. In practice, information comes from three places:

• Email address, if you sign up. The newsletter and cheat-sheet signup forms on this site collect the email address you type in, so we can send you the resource you asked for and occasional related guides. This is handled through our email provider, MailerLite. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
• Usage data, automatically. Like most websites, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are useful and which aren't. This collects things like which pages you viewed, how long you stayed, your approximate location (city/region level, from your IP address), and the type of device and browser you're using. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally.
• Push notification consent, if you opt in. We use OneSignal to offer browser push notifications. If you accept the browser permission prompt, we store a device token so we can send you notifications about new guides. You can revoke this at any time in your browser's notification settings.

We do not have a login system, we do not process payments, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Cookies and similar technology

Google Analytics and OneSignal each set their own cookies or local storage entries to do the things described above. We don't use cookies for advertising or to track you across other websites. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings; doing so may stop analytics and push notifications from working, but the site itself will still work normally.

How we use information

• To send the specific resource (like the envelope cheat sheet) you requested
• To understand which guides are helpful, so we can improve or expand them
• To fix bugs and keep the site working correctly across devices
• To send push notifications you've explicitly opted into

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Who we share information with

We share data only with the service providers that make the site function: our hosting provider, our email provider (MailerLite), our analytics provider (Google Analytics), and our push notification provider (OneSignal). Each of these has its own privacy practices governing the data that passes through their systems. We may also disclose information if required by law.
